Quality verses Quantity   1 comment

This afternoon I was blessed to meet a woman who lives at a homeless shelter. So many times people look at them as not being blessed because they don’t have a home or money. At the leading of my Lord Jesus, I left a church who’s god was money, themselves, cars, houses, etc. They allowed the jezebel spirit to teach and deceive God’s people. They allowed people who operate with witchcraft to be over hospitality (who serve the food when events take place and serve the pastor, his wife and others water). While there I was taught outer appearance is of great importance. I was taught if you want people to know you’re called of God, you have to dress like it. I was taught more money means you are blessed. I was taught if the majority says it that means it must be true. I was taught to be great you have to have a college degree. I was taught to be blessed you have to have a big house or a nice car. I was taught many things, but the Word of God. But today I met a woman that had neither one of the things I was taught in that church. Today, I met an example of a true tabernacle not made by man (Hebrews 8:1-2; Hebrews 9:11-15). This woman has the Lord in her life and on her life. A homeless woman who currently lives at a shelter taught me to be thankful in everything. She taught me you don’t have to have a nice suit to be anointed by God. She taught me your outer appearance doesn’t matter. She taught me so many things just sitting and talking in less than an hour than all the years I was at this church. She taught me humility, love (the greatest power of God). I went there to be a blessing and was blessed. Father in  Heaven, THANK YOU… Thank you for sending your daughter to help me see You.

We have so many of God’s servants, doing His will outside of the church building. At that church I was not taught to be a disciple. Today I met face to face, a true tabernacle, a true disciple. Thank You Father for answering my prayers.

I am posting a Word the Lord gave me June, 2012 titled “Quality verses Quantity”.

6/26/2012 – Quality verses Quantity:

People put so much emphasis on quantity and neglect the importance of quality. We have quoted, “the bigger the better”.  That thought comes from the world (satan). Other ideas taken from the world (satan): “The majority is the strongest; the one with the largest amount of money is better than the one with less; a big person in stature is feared and/or respected.” We even have a quote, “If the majority says it, it must be true” or “only the strong shall survive”. All of these are deceptive statements from satan.  There are so many things that happen in the Bible that proves those worldly statements are not true and proves quality is surely better than quantity. Even in the church; those who give the most money is revered and respected above those who gives their little. Remember the poor widow in the Bible who gave her two mites (small coins) (Mark 12:41-44 (NKJV); Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much.  Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans.  So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury;  for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”). In Jesus eyes she put in more than those who put in the most amount of money.

I’m not sure if you’ve experienced this. But in some churches you’ll notice how people respond in cheers when someone testifies about getting a house, a car, or a certain amount of money. But when someone testifies about God delivering them from a demon, it gets quiet. Not too many want to hear that type of testimony. What do you think is greater? Jesus tells us in Matthew 23:23 (NKJV) what is more important (Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.) People put so much emphasis on the size of a thing. For some, God has to come with great and big signs and wonders in order for them to believe it’s Him speaking.

1 Samuel 17 tells us about when David killed the Philistine, Goliath, using a sling and a rock with the Power of God. The Bible says in verse 4, Goliath was six cubits and a span, which is almost 10 feet.  So many say David killed Goliath with just a sling and a rock. Saying that gives all the glory and power in David (a man). But David went in the Power of the Lord God of Host (verse 45; Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied). He went in the Power of the One who gave him the Power to defeat his big enemy. Through the Lord God, David used wisdom to defeat his enemy. Wisdom was his strength.

Another example of quality verses quantity; Saul was King and had more as far as things and wealth as oppose to David, who was a sheep herder. But David had the anointing of God on his life, which is greater than all the wealth Saul had. After Saul disobeyed God he was removed as king and God chose David. Several times Saul (while he was still sitting on the throne) tried to kill David; but it never prevailed. In the end, David became King of Israel.

Remember when I mentioned how the world feels concerning the majority group is the strongest. Well God shows us in 1 Kings 18:20-40 how His ONE Prophet, Elijah, had victory over 450 false prophets of baal that King Ahab and his wife, Jezebel appointed. The ONE true prophet of God challenged the 450 false prophets so he could prove who the true God is. (1 Kings 18:22-25 (NKJV);Then Elijah said to the people, “I alone am left a prophet of the Lord; but baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Therefore let them give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it. Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord; and the God who answers by fire, He is God.” So all the people answered and said, “It is well spoken.” Now Elijah said to the prophets of baal, “Choose one bull for yourselves and prepare it first, for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it.”) Note how Elijah stated “FOR YOU ARE MANY”. God’s one true prophet had victory over the many false prophets and in the end not only did God send fire down which proved He was the true God; but Elijah executed those 450 false prophets.

Now on the statement “If the majority says it, it must be true”. In 1st Kings 22:1-50. King Ahab wanted to know if he should go to war with the King of Syria. Ahab called for 400 false prophets to ask them what to do and they told him to go. King Jehoshaphat asked if there was a prophet of God they could ask. Ahab said there was ONE prophet of God, (Micaiah) but the King hated him because to he never prophesied anything good to Ahab. Ahab did send for God’s prophet, Micaiah. Prior to God’s prophet coming, the false prophets prophesied to the Kings saying in verse 12, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper, for the Lord will deliver it into the king’s hand.” When Micaiah got there, at 1st he repeated what the false prophets said. After the King told him to tell the truth, he told them this in verses 19-23; “Then Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by, on His right hand and on His left. And the Lord said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’ Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.” Well, King Ahab ignored God’s ONE prophet and listened to the 400 false prophets and went to battle. Ahab died in battle (1 Kings 22:29-40).

In 1st Samuel 1, there were 2 wives, Hannah and Peninnah. Peninnah provoked Hannah because she had many children and Hannah had none. In those days the more children you had, you were looked upon as being blessed. Hannah continued in prayer asking God for a child. She did not give in to Peninnah’s negative attitude. God blessed Hannah and she gave birth to a great prophet of God, Samuel. So with Peninnah many children to Hannah’s ONE son, she was indeed the one blessed. Hannah was so grateful to God for blessing her with Samuel, she gave her son to God so he can serve Him.

Please read the other scriptures concerning quantity verses quality. Be blessed and remember with God, His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, you are the majority.

Isaiah 31:1-3 (NKJV); Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster, and will not call back His words, but will arise against the house of evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity. Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out His hand, both he who helps will fall, and he who is helped will fall down; they all will perish together.

***EGYPT represents: World, Worldliness, Bondage, Idolatry, Slavery, and CAPTIVITY

Luke 9:51-56; Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?” But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village.

***One thing we cannot forget is when you believe in quality as oppose to quantity, you’ll have humility. Getting caught up in quantity causes you to be prideful. Pride is very deceptive and dangerous.

Proverbs 8:13-14 (NKJV) says; The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength.”

Proverbs 11:2 (KJV); When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Proverbs 16:18-20 (KVJ) says; Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.

Webster definition of pride and haughty:

Pride – An unduly high opinion of oneself. Haughtiness; Arrogance.

Haughty – Having or showing great pride in oneself and contempt for others. Arrogant.

Psalm 10:1-11 (NKJV); Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide in times of trouble? The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire; he blesses the greedy and renounces the Lord. The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts. His ways are always prospering; Your judgments are far above, out of his sight; As for all his enemies, he sneers at them. He has said in his heart, “I shall not be moved; I shall never be in adversity.” His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is trouble and iniquity. He sits in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; His eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless. He lies in wait secretly, as a lion in his den; He lies in wait to catch the poor; He catches the poor when he draws him into his net. So he crouches, he lies low, that the helpless may fall by his strength. He has said in his heart, “God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see.”

  1. Luke 12:13-21; Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” And He said to them, “Take heed and BEWARE OF COVETOUSNESS, FOR ONE’S LIFE DOES NOT CONSIST IN THE ABUNDANCE (LARGE QUANTITY) OF THE THINGS HE POSSESSES.” Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’ BUT GOD SAID TO HIM, ‘FOOL! THIS NIGHT YOUR SOUL WILL BE REQUIRED OF YOU; THEN WHOSE WILL THOSE THINGS BE WHICH YOU HAVE PROVIDED?’ “SO IS HE WHO LAYS UP TREASURE FOR HIMSELF, AND IS NOT RICH TOWARD GOD.”
