Discernment – 2   Leave a comment

Discern (Distinguish; Tell the Difference; Detect; Recognize)

We are a generation that trust what we see and not discern what’s in a person’s heart or their motives. So many are blinded by the deceiving power and signs and lying wonders the Lord warns us about in 2 Thessalonians 2:8-9. Too many think have the wrong idea of discernment. So many think it’s given to just a certain group of people they feel were chosen by God. So many also think discernment come by way of their position or title given by man. Discernment is given to everyone but it’s up to us to heed to it. Too many ignore it. Some get that “feeling” something isn’t right and overlook it and write it off. Pride is a deadly thing for so many reasons. One reason it keeps us from discerning good from evil. Whatever is pleasing to the flesh is followed by so many. The ones I’ll discuss are those that are blind in the spirit. They think they have it all together, but don’t. I heard a pastor’s wife (who also called herself an evangelist) brag about having discernment. She stated in a prideful manner “95% of the time I discern.” Some time later the Lord showed me how this woman was being deceived by another woman (in the same church) who has the spirit of jezebel. She allowed this woman to do things for her because the woman with the jezebel spirit was very talented. This woman who claimed to have discernment unknowingly allowed a strong demonic spirit to control her. This woman with the jezebel spirit was eventually given a license of evangelist by that pastor and his wife, the one who supposedly had great discernment. The problem with this situation, the pastor nor his wife discerned that woman’s spirit to see if there was any evil in her. This woman used a lot of deceptive tools to blind these leaders in the church. She and her husband give a great amount of money to the church. They were very cunning in using flattering. But the problem isn’t really with the woman and that demonic spirit. The woman deceived was already deceived. She felt because of the time she was saved (29 years) she would automatically know who was a devil. When you think you can’t be deceived, you’ve already been deceived. Her pride kept her from using discernment and she allowed what she saw with her eyes to deceive her.

Another issue with using no discernment; This generation is so quick to allow any one to lay hands on them. There is nothing wrong with laying on of hands. The Lord Jesus instructs His people to do it. He tells us in Mark 16:18 that we are to lay hands on the sick and they will recover. The problem is, are you discerning if those hands are clean. In other word, are their hearts pure before the Lord? Works doesn’t make our hearts pure… Money surely don’t make our hearts pure… In Acts 8:9-25 there was a sorcerer named Simon, who deceived many. Verse 10 in Acts 9 tells us people believed Simon had great power from God because of the things he did, but his power came from satan. Now just imagine if those who were deceived by Simon (because they thought the power was from God) allowed him to lay hands on them. Those demonic spirits in Simon transferred to them and they were worse than before. Later in the chapter, Simon believed in Jesus and was baptized, but he still had some of his evil ways in controlling him and wasn’t fully delivered. So when he witnessed the Lord Jesus apostles lay hands on the people which caused them to receive the Holy Spirit, he offered them money for this power. So, discern a person’s heart before they lay hands on you. What I do before I go to the altar for prayer, I pray for God to clean those hands. It truly works because there was a time a false prophet was at the church I was a member of, deceiving people into giving their money. The Lord showed me he was a false prophet. But in my mind I wasn’t fully convinced so the Lord allowed me to go in the line, but He told me to only put my tithes and offerings in the envelope. I asked the Lord when I go there do not let that man say anything to me in the microphone and don’t let him speak to me about money. When I got to him, he put his hands on mine and he did not speak in the microphone, nor did he speak to me about money. But the whole time he held my hands, I felt the anointing of the Lord keeping my hands from those spirits coming in me. So when we don’t discern someone and allow them to lay hands on us, we are opening ourselves for demons to enter into us.

Our Lord Jesus warns us in Matthew 24:24 (For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect). If you are the elect and I am the elect, shouldn’t we discern EVERY ONE and EVERY WORD and ASK THE LORD to show us what’s in their heart and not look at the works they have done. Those works deceive so many of Christians… I was deceived for a long time; until the Lord Jesus opened my eyes… We have to allow the Lord Jesus to show us ourselves and simple ask if we are being deceived… Why live our lives on earth thinking we are doing the Will of God; thinking we are going to Heaven. And when we get to those gates, we go based on the works we’ve done (when we haven’t discern even our own works) and the Lord tells us “Depart from Me you worker of iniquity” (Luke 13:27). Get it right NOW before it’s too late. Don’t let your title/position deceive you… DISCERN… Don’t let the title/position of others to deceive you… DISCERN… Don’t be deceived by your traditions/norms and YOUR beliefs… DISCERN… Don’t let the works of others deceive you… DISCERN… Don’t let the WORDS of others deceive you… DISCERN… Don’t let YOUR righteousness deceive you… DISCERN… Discern; the Lord Jesus says, Discern…

Don’t go based on your righteousness because we are told in the Word of God, our righteousness are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). We have to go based on God’s righteousness. Simply and sincerely ask the Lord Jesus to show you what you are doing that’s not His desire. Don’t assume you are doing what’s right because you’ve done it for years… It’s not always so clear… That’s why the Lord has to show us ourselves… God is pleading with us. Please ask for His help and don’t assume another day… Finally, be humbled and allow change to take place. Don’t stay down. The Righteous God tells us to get back up… The hour of correction is here… Receive it and allow God to truly use you to tear down His enemy and your enemy’s kingdom… Be blessed…

2 Thessalonians 2:8-9 (KJV); And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.

1 Timothy 5:22 (KJV); Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.

Acts 8:9-22 (NKJV); But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”  And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.  But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done. Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.” Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (NKJV); Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Luke 13:25-28 (NKJV); When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out.

Isaiah 64:5-6 (NKJV); You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, who remembers You in Your ways. You are indeed angry, for we have sinned. In these ways we continue; And we need to be saved. But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV); But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:19-20 (NKJV); Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 15:3-9 (NKJV); He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”; then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

Job 17:5 (KJV); He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

Proverbs 6:24-25 (KJV); To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

Job 32:21-22 (KJV); Let me not, I pray you, accept any man’s person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man. For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my Maker would soon take me away.

Psalm 78:36 (KJV); Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

We truly need to discern others. We are taught so much from traditions, it is killing too many of God’s people. We see a title and automatically believe every word that comes out of their mouths. The Bible tells us to believe not every spirit, but try the spirits to see if they are of God (1 John 4:1; Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.). The Lord Jesus gave me two Words last year concerning discerning; which I’m posting after this. This is our souls at stake. Actually, I hope you are discerning this Word I’m posting. When I went on that fast, the Lord had me to separate from others. I wasn’t even about to call my sister during that time. The things I learned about how easy it is for us to be deceived was astounding. There are so many things taught in our churches that deceives us because of tradition. I will be posting what He taught me as the Lord leads me. But it’s too many turning away from the truth because it’s not what their used to. I used to do it. They speak evil of things they don’t understand (2 Peter 2:12). They don’t receive a Word of the Lord from some because they don’t have a known title. Again, this is our souls at stake. Our relationship with the Lord has to be more important than popularity. When the Lord began to show me truths, it was hard at first. I told Him “well, pastor said this”. The Lord said (very abruptly) “Who is your God”; “Who do you trust”. I had to stop putting my trust in man and put my trust in the Lord Jesus. The Lord tells us in Jeremiah to not put our trust in man, but in Him. Do we give them honor for their labor? Yes. But they CANNOT be our God. And that’s what has happened in today’s churches, they have taken away Jesus (some unknowingly) and placed others as their god. So many are afraid to speak up and tell the truth. That is compromise. I have been persecuted by close family and friends because I spoke the truth that just so happen to be toward a pastor and his wife. This pastor and his wife allowed demonic spirits to run that church and when I spoke about it I was told “you can’t speak against our leaders”. 1st of all, I am not against leadership or against those leaders; which I’ve told these individuals. But they chose to believe satan which caused us to be separated. The sad thing is these individuals knew of the demonic activities operating in the church and the pastor allowed it but they got caught up in the title, positions, and money. The Bible shows us how the prophets came to kings and told them of their evil ways. When is it a time in Christianity we are suppose to overlook evil and keep shut about it because of their positions in the church? There is none. Even Paul rebuked Peter. Paul just became a Christian when he rebuked Peter, who walked with the Lord. That same pastor would tell us we need to trust him because he was pastor. But the Lord told me the scripture found in Jeremiah 17:5 which caused me to be looked on as a traitor. I was looked on as an evil person because I told the truth. The Lord delivered me from that church because He said if I stay any longer, I would become just like them. I ran after that. We have to follow what the Lord says, no matter what. True Christianity is not popular. If you are not offending anyone because of the truth you are not doing your job as a disciples.

2 Timothy 4:3-4; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

1 John 4:1; Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test (try, discern) the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 Peter 2:1-3; But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.
