Pray for our enemies

Matthew 5:43-48; “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’BUT I SAY TO YOU, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, BLESS THOSE WHO CURSE YOU, DO GOOD TO THOSE WHO HATE YOU, AND PRAY FOR THOSE WHO SPITEFULLY USE YOU AND PERSECUTE YOU, THAT YOU MAY BE THE SONS OF YOUR FAITHER IN HEAVEN; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Bless: To speak well of, to bless (thank or invoke a benediction upon, prosper). To praise. TO SPEAK WELL OF.

**When we bless our enemies, we are asking God to have mercy on them, like He has mercy on us.

Curse: To pray or call down evil on a person. The expression of a wish that misfortune, evil, doom, etc., befall a person. TO SPEAK AND/OR THINK EVIL OF. TO SHOW NO LOVE

**When we curse our enemy, we are saying we are better than they. We are saying Jesus didn’t die for them also, like He did for me.

Obadiah 12-14; “But you should not have gazed on the day of your brother in the day of his captivity; Nor should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; Nor should you have spoken proudly in the day of distress. You should not have entered the gate of My people in the day of their calamity. Indeed, you should not have gazed on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity. You should not have stood at the crossroads to cut off those among them who escaped; Nor should you have delivered up those among them who remained in the day of distress.

Proverbs 24:17-18; Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him.

Job 31:29-30; “If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me, or lifted myself up when evil found him (INDEED I HAVE NOT ALLOWED MY MOUTH TO SIN BY ASKING FOR A CURSE ON HIS SOUL).

1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, THINKS NO EVIL; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Luke 23:34; Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

Acts 7:59-60; And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Dear Lord God in Heaven; I pray for my enemies and ask You to bless them as You say in Your Word. They have sinned against You only and not me. I say that because they can apologize to me and not receive what they really need. Lord, I have no key to put them in Heaven or hell; But You do. So I pray they come to You and ask for forgiveness. Until they ask for forgiveness, I intercede for them and ask You to forgive them because they don’t know what they are doing. I pray they become my friends through Jesus Christ and we walk in unity professing the Gospel of Christ. Mend their ways and heal their hearts. I pray they receive You when You come to them. Protect them from the hands of satan. Keep the true enemy, satan from speaking to them. Speak to them as they sleep and touch their hearts to receive You. Thank You for loving us all. We are not better than others; We are not better than our enemies for we were once enemies of You also. But by Your grace and mercy You called us out of darkness. I thank You for them coming out of darkness. I pray for the wickedness controlling them to cease. I pray for their eyes to open to the truth. I pray they experience You as the apostle, Paul so they can receive true salvation. In Jesus Name, Amen.
