God Works in the Simple Things   Leave a comment

I received this email from Andrew Wommack this morning. The Holy Spirit was teaching me this yesterday but more so along the lines of not getting deceived. So many people reject God because He doesn’t come in grand; awe ways as the world consider grand. Jesus was rejected by so many because He didn’t come as a king on this world would come. The people even said “Isn’t He the son of John”. Jesus was a carpenter and so many did not accept Him as King. Even today we expect Him to deal with our enemies by destroying them; even though He said He didn’t come to this world to destroy men, but to save men’s lives (Luke 9:56). The Lord tells us in Matthew 5 to love our enemies and to bless them and not to curse them. The Lord warns us in His Word about seeking signs and wonders because satan deceives many by doing signs and wonders. The Lord Jesus is very capable of doing these things, but He loves us so much. If we get caught us in signs and wonders, not only can we get deceived; but if we do them (even in His name), we will take the credit. This is the scripture He spoke to me yesterday:  2 Thessalonians 2:9; Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. Instead of living a lie and not knowing it, we can accept God in His simple manner and live in truth. Lord God; help us not to get caught up in signs and wonders. Open our eyes. Remove deception from us and humble us to see what we are doing and accepting that we think is You, but is really satan. Help us to discern the truth from the lie and accept the truth. Thank You, in Jesus Name, Amen…

You may think “then how will I know the Lord unless it’s by signs and wonders”. Well, get to know Him by reading the Bible and being accepting you can be deceived. Accepting you can be deceived is the 1st step of being free from deception. Jesus is so simple, but His love is so powerful.

GOD WORKS IN THE SIMPLE THINGS – From Andrew Wommack Ministries

John 14:7 "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."

JOHN 14:7

Knowing Jesus is knowing the Father. This is not only because Jesus did exactly what He saw His Father do, but Jesus was God in the flesh.

The disciples didn’t realize that seeing Jesus was seeing God. They were expecting something more. Many times we miss seeing God work in our lives and circumstances because we are looking for something stupendous. Although it is true that God is totally awesome, He doesn’t usually choose to manifest Himself in that way.

God spoke to Elijah not in the fire, wind, or an earthquake, but in a still, small voice. Jesus didn’t come to this earth in a grand way by man’s standards, but was born to poor parents in a stable. Isaiah 53:2 says that Jesus had no form nor beauty that would make us think that He was anything more than a mere man.

Paul reveals in 1 Corinthians 1:27-29, that God chooses to do things this way so that no flesh will glory in His presence. The Lord wants us to focus on Him through faith and not concentrate on the physical things He uses. In the Old Testament when the Lord did use visible instruments to release His power, the Israelites made idols out of those things.

Just as the disciples saw Jesus but didn’t realize that what they saw was God, likewise, God is infinitely involved in our everyday lives, but we miss Him because we are blinded by our carnal minds. The primary reason that God chooses to use those who are nothing by the world’s standards is so that no one else will take the credit for the great things that are accomplished.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-10; Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that He is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Luke 10:17-20; And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name. And He said unto them, I beheld satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.John 4:48; Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”Mark 8:11-12; Then the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him. But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.”

Revelation 13:13-14; He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
