Sickness Is Not From God   Leave a comment

I want to share an email I received this morning concerning this topic. I used to have this type of mindset because of things I was taught; but last year the Lord God began to teach me the truth. He said “why would I allow sickness and offer healing”. To be honest, that’s being double minded. The Bible (God’s Word) tells us being double minded is unstable (James 1:8). Since God tells us not to be double minded, why would He. The Lord God does not have to make a person sick to be glorified. His Word tells us to glorify Him. What’s worse, this lie from satan has gotten into the hearts and minds of so many Christians. I’ve heard in the past a pastor’s wife say God allowed this deadly sickness to come on her to give her the gift of healing. Last year I met a woman who said the same thing and she talked herself into getting cancer because she thought it was from God. Me and a friend tried to tell her the truth but she would not accept it. Recently the Holy Spirit told me satan does tells that lie to get his foot in the door and once he gets one foot in, it leaves the door open for him to come in a reek more havoc in our lives with more lies and deception. If you’ve been given that lie you are not at a lost. We can kick the devil out and shut the door by getting and receiving the truth. Start by looking at what Jesus did for others. Jesus provided. Jesus healed. Not one time did Jesus put sickness on anyone for any reason. Read in the Word of God about Jesus. Look at what the Bible says in Isaiah 53 about the prophecy of Jesus (verse 5; But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was UPON Him; and with His stripes WE ARE HEALED). Also I would suggest listening to this teaching titled “The Word Became Flesh” found on http://www.awmi.net/extra/audio/1057. Another teaching is “God Wants You Well” on http://www.awmi.net/extra/audio/1036. These teachings will surely help you. Please, don’t close yourself to it because you may hear things that may question what you’ve been taught; but give it a chance. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you while listening. My prayer is satan be kept away while you receive this teaching. Please, please ask the Holy Spirit to teach you this subject so you can receive freedom. Peace and blessings to you all. Veronica

SICKNESS IS NOT FROM GOD – Andrew Wommack Ministries

John 9:2 "And his disciples asked him saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?"

JOHN 9:1-4

The disciples asked a question that still puzzles many people today. Why is a child born with a physical defect? Is it a judgment of God upon the parents for some sin, or is it possibly God’s judgment upon the child for sins that God knows he will commit?

Jesus Himself had previously linked sickness with sin. In this instance, however, Jesus said this blindness was not caused by this man’s or his parents’ sins.

This has led many people to interpret the rest of this verse as saying that God made this man blind just so that He could heal him and be glorified thereby. From this thinking, many doctrinal teachings have risen about how sickness and other problems in our lives are actually blessings from God, intended to bring glory to God and correction to us. This reasoning, however, does not line up with the other truths of God’s Word.

It was not God who made this beggar blind. This man was not born blind because of any one person’s sins but because sin in general had corrupted the perfect balance that God had created in nature. Therefore, some maladies happen, not as a direct result of an individual’s sins but as an indirect result of sin in general.

Deuteronomy 28 settles forever the question of whether sickness, poverty, and oppression are really blessings in disguise. God says that sickness and poverty are curses – not blessings from God. Christ redeemed us from these curses of the law so that now the blessings may come upon us through Him (Galatians 3:13). God’s curses have been placed on Jesus and removed from those who accept Jesus’ sacrifice. You are blessed!
