GOD’S KIND OF LOVE – From Andrew Wommack Ministries

Matthew 8:9-10, "For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."

MATTHEW 8:5-13, LUKE 7:1-10

There were only two things in all of scripture that caused Jesus to marvel. They were (1) the Centurion’s faith and (2) the Jews’ unbelief (Mk. 6:6). A faith that made Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith, marvel is worth examining. This centurion believed that the spoken word of Jesus was sufficient to produce his miracle. He didn’t need Jesus to come to his house. He had faith in Jesus’ word. Therefore, we can see that the person who simply believes the written Word of God is operating in a much higher form of faith than those who require additional proof. Compare this centurion’s faith with the "little" faith of Thomas in John 20:24-29!

Thomas refused to believe what He couldn’t see or feel. Our five senses were given to us by God and are necessary to help us function in this life. But if we do not renew our minds to acknowledge the limits of the five senses, they will keep us from believing. Faith can perceive things that the senses cannot (Heb. 11:1).

The type of faith that Thomas operated in was a human or natural faith that was based on what he could see. Jesus said there was a greater blessing to be obtained. That greater blessing comes from using a supernatural, God-kind of faith that is based only on God’s Word.

Jesus and God’s Word are one (Jn 1:1, 14). Believing God’s Word is not just putting your trust in some printed words on the pages of a book we call the Bible. There is much more involved. It is a relationship with a person, the person behind the words. Get to know Him through His Word.

CHOOSE TO LOVE – From Andrew Wommack Ministries

John 18:23 "Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?"

God’s kind of love is not self-serving or self-seeking. Agape love will cause a person to lay down his life for another (Jn. 15:13), because he has literally forgotten himself. Many times when heros are asked why they put themselves in jeopardy to save someone else, they reply that they didn’t even think about themselves. All they thought of was the danger to the other person. That’s God’s kind of love.

God’s type of love involves emotions many times, but it is not an emotion. It is an act of the will. We can choose to love even when we don’t feel like it and we can always conduct ourselves in a godly manner, when we feel God’s kind of love. God’s kind of love is a choice.

God’s kind of love is also the antidote to selfishness and pride. We cannot conquer self by focusing on self. The only way to win over self is to fall in love with God more than with ourself. It is in discovering God’s love that we lose self love.

Jesus didn’t feel some emotional sensation when He chose to die for us, but that was the greatest demonstration of God’s kind of love that the world has ever seen. He made a choice in spite of His emotions. Because He was consumed with God’s love, He acted properly, even when His emotions didn’t agree.

Jesus is the ultimate example of God’s kind of love.

BELOVED LET US LOVE   Leave a comment

March 29, 2013

Beloved let us love one another, for love is of God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God! – 1 John 4:7

What is the greatest command that I have given you, except that you love Me with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself, but if you do not love yourself, how can you love others?  In order to love yourself you must see yourself the way that I see you for I am your loving Father, and I see you perfect in My eyes.  I see you through the shed blood of the Lamb, and if I can see you perfect, holy, and spotless, and love you unconditionally, then you must see yourself in the same light, and love yourself unconditionally.

That is what the major problem in My body is that many are still holding on to the past hurts and failures instead of receiving My forgiveness and forgiving themselves they are holding on to them.  In order to love and forgive others you must forgive yourself!

For I am doing a new thing, and it will spring forth suddenly, but you must be ready to be a part of it and to partake of it to the fullest portion.  Whenever you see a downfall in others, you must see them through the light of My son instead of marking them with judgment.  Didn’t I say that I desire mercy rather than judgment?  If I can look past the outer layer of your soul and look straight to the heart, why can’t you?

I am not condoning a false grace, which says that whatever your soul does is all right that it is already forgiven so that I can do whatever I desire.  That is false grace, and there is great judgment against those who teach this and do not repent of it, but I am saying that I can see the heart that one is working at overcoming their shortcoming and weaknesses; and love covers over a multitude of sin.  You must believe, and hope, and expect one to overcome, and be able to walk in all the light I have given them.

When you start correcting, and criticizing, and placing false judgment upon one another, you are coming against My body that I gave My life for.  I shed My blood that they would be whole and spotless.  I forever intercede that they would overcome, and enter into My kingdom and power, and walk as a mature son of God.  Then why do you give into the snare of the fowler and place judgment upon them?

This is the day that I am separating the wheat from the tares, the goat from the sheep.  Yes, I know who truly are Mine and you can tell them by their fruit.  Those who love one another, and are willing to pay the price to be patient, long suffering, gentle, and kind to one another, no matter how unlovely they are towards you, are truly My disciples.

If the world can’t tell you by your love, then how can you usher in the end time harvest of souls that I gave My life for.  Many would fall to the wayside, because they cannot be drawn to Me if you don’t share My love with them.  If they can’t see My love, then they will go where they are accepted, and that usually is not a safe place.

So you have a responsibility, everyone who is called by My name, to be a light in a dark place, and share the example of loving when it is the hardest to do.  For the natural love cannot do this, but the true love that flows from the heart of the Father will overcome the darkness, and overcome, and flow like a mighty river out to the lost.

They overcame by the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and they loved not their life unto death.

Greek – To free by paying a ransom.

I’m apart of this weekly Bible study group that meets every Monday. Last night the Holy Spirit taught us about being redeemed. The Lord Jesus took our place on the cross. That was supposed to be us dying in that manner; but He took our place.

One of the things He taught us through discussion was how people and things cannot redeem us; Only through Jesus Christ are we redeemed. There are so many in the churches who hold dear to them their riches, their positions/titles, and their works; thinking those things will redeem them. But don’t you know if we don’t accept Christ as our Redeemer, we can have all the money we need, have great titles and positions, pay tithes from every pay check, have many friends, have a nice car and a great house; But none of them will give us eternal life. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus talks to the scribes and Pharisees and call them hypocrites because they were caught up in paying tithes, but neglecting what was more important. The Lord wasn’t speaking against tithing. He was letting them know they should do those things, but don’t neglect the things that are more important, like “justice, mercy and faith”. When you do those things they are done out of love.

Jesus also tells us about the rich young ruler (see scripture below). The rich man said he did all the things to receive eternal life like following the laws from his youth. But when the Lord Jesus asked him to do something outside of following the law; something that required out of an act of Love; the rich young ruler couldn’t. It actually made him sad and he left Jesus sorrowful because he had great possessions.

When we acknowledge the Redeemer (Jesus) and what He redeemed us from, we submit ourselves to Him. We Love Him because we are so grateful for Him dying for us. So if He asks us to give away our possessions (or whatever He ask), then we do because what we will receive is something far more greater. When we receive Jesus as our Redeemer, we will walk in Love. If the rich young ruler would have had the Love of Christ in his heart, he would have gladly given away all his possessions so he could gain the Heavenly treasures. What are you thinking and feeling is of great value? Is it your career, your house, car, your husband/wife, your children, parents, etc. We cannot put no thing or no one in place of Jesus Christ. If we do that, we are not honoring His death. If we do that, we are saying this person or this thing is what redeems me. This morning during studying, the Holy Spirit led me to Psalm 49. This was my first time ever reading this and while reading it I thought “this is what we were talking about last night”. It talks about how none of those things or people can redeem us. God is so awesome. His Love for us is great. To accept Jesus as our Redeemer is so much greater than anything else. People or things did not die for me. Only Jesus Christ died for my sins. We ARE redeemed through Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. I ask you listen to this song and let the words minister to you. Please allow the Holy Spirit to help you examine yourself to see if you’ve truly accepted Jesus as your Redeemer.

Psalm 49:1-20; Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, both low and high, rich and poor together. My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall give understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp. Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity at my heels surrounds me? Those who trust in their wealth and boast in the multitude of their riches, none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him. For the redemption of their souls is costly, and it shall cease forever; That he should continue to live eternally, and not see the Pit. For he sees wise men die; Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names. Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain; He is like the beasts that perish. This is the way of those who are foolish, and of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; Death shall feed on them; The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me. Selah. Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, when the glory of his house is increased; For when he dies he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lives he blesses himself (For men will praise you when you do well for yourself), he shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see light. A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, is like the beasts that perish.

Isaiah 54:8; With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the Lord, your Redeemer.

Psalm 107:1-3; Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

Titus 2:11-14; For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Matthew 23:23; “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

Mark 10:17-22; Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’” And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

The Greatest Gift   Leave a comment

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 – The Greatest Gift

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
