TRUST IN JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR – Andrew Wommack Ministries

Matthew 19:16 "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"

MATTHEW 19:12-20

On the surface, it appears that this rich young ruler was "right on" in the way he approached Jesus and sought salvation. He ran, kneeled down to Jesus, and openly professed Him as a Good Master. What could be wrong with that?

First, he acknowledged Jesus as good but not as God. This is a pivotal point.

Every major religion of the world acknowledges that Jesus lived and will even admit that He definitely was a good man, but they won’t recognize Him as God. If Jesus was only a good man, He couldn’t save anybody. Jesus didn’t just come to show us the way to God. He was the way, the only way unto the Father.

No man could come unto the Father, but by Him (Jn. 14:6). Jesus had made this point publicly many times before. This is the reason that Jesus responded to this young man’s question the way He did. Jesus was saying, "God is the only one who is good. You must accept me as God or not at all." Jesus was either who He claimed to be or He was the biggest fraud that ever lived. He has to be one or the other. He cannot be both.

Second, he asked what he could do to produce salvation. He trusted in himself and believed he could accomplish whatever good work Jesus might request. This is completely opposed to the plan of salvation that Jesus came to bring.

Jesus obtained salvation for us through His substitution and He offers it to us as a free gift. All we must do is believe and receive. This rich young ruler wasn’t looking for a Savior. He was trying to be his own savior. This is the reason Jesus referred him back to the commandments. He either needed to keep all of the law perfectly or he needed a Savior. Jesus desired to turn this man from trusting in himself by showing him God’s perfect standard, which no one could keep, so that then he would trust in a Savior.

Trusting in the Lord God   Leave a comment

Hi everyone. I want to share something the Holy Spirit shared with me this morning. If you have been going through some struggles, He is with you to help you. There has been so much going on with me and my family lately. I have been feeling dead, but walking around breathing. I know none of it is from God and it all is from satan. We’ve been struggling financially, personal issues and recently my nephew was seriously hurt from a head wound. To top it off I just heard a family member has stage 4 prostate cancer. When I found out about the cancer, for a split second I started to scream out “God, what’s going on”. But the Holy Spirit stopped me. I started to think “does my family have some curse on us”. But the Holy Spirit reminded me Jesus died to take away all sickness and curses (Galatians 3:13; Isaiah 53:4). What these are are merely attacks from our enemy. I say “merely/simply” because my Father God is all power. He said He’s our provider; He said by the stripes of my Lord Jesus we ARE healed. So I have a choice to believe and focus on the problems/mountains or I can believe what God says out of His own mouth. He said He’s our Provider, so why stress over finances. He said He’s our Healer, so why stress over sickness. The truth is I have been stressing over it. So much so it began to have an effect on my own body. I began to sit and think about all that’s been going on. And when the Lord asked me why, I said “do you see what’s going on; how can I not”. The problem with that is I was focusing on the issues and not focusing on the Lord God’s love for me; for us all. That’s what I woke up this morning with. A remembrance of His love for us. He’s love is so awesome He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins; and to raise from the dead to reconcile us back to our Father. Mankind messed up, but God didn’t allow our mess-ups to keep Him from sending us the answer – Jesus Christ. That’s God showing us His Grace. So this morning, instead of thinking about the problems, the Holy Spirit, not me, but God’s Holy Spirit helped me remember God’s Love. That gave me the strength to smile and have hope, which is having a good expectation for a good outcome. His Love strengthened me to believe “No weapon formed against us shall prosper”. He told me to say that in prayer several months ago because He knew of the attacks satan was going to bring on us. When I heard about my nephew, the Holy Spirit said to say specifically “No weapon formed against DJ will prosper”. I had to specifically say my nephew’s name. Everyday DJ got better. By His stripes DJ is healed. By His stripes my family member is healed from prostrate cancer and all sickness (lies) from the devil. There is power in God’s Words. He said the Word of God is sharper than ANY two-edged sword. Have you ever seen a two-edged sword? I did. Last year I googled it and saw a picture of a two-edged sword and thought “that’s a bad sword”. I can’t see no one surviving being stabbed by a two-edged sword. But when the Holy Spirit reminded me of that this morning, I thought God, Your Word is SHARPER than ANY two-edged sword. Anything the devil brings to us, we have to authority (given by our Lord Jesus) to us our sword, the Word of God to kill that problem. Whether it’s cancer, heart disease, diabetics, finances, etc. We have the Word of God/sword to use. We already have to victory because Jesus fought AND won the battle for us. Why listen to and believe the mountain when Jesus told us to speak to the mountain. Tell the mountain the Word of God. Jesus did; and those mountains listened to Him. Look how He did it in the Bible. He told sickness to leave in so many people; and sickness left. He told the dead to come back; and they came alive. The Holy Spirit also reminded me of when God told a prophet in Ezekiel 37 to speak to dry bones/dead bones. If you haven’t read that chapter, please do so. Anyway, God told Ezekiel to prophesy to those dry bones. He told Ezekiel to say “O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord”. Then the Lord told Ezekiel to say “Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord”. The rest of the scriptures the Lord tell Ezekiel what to say and when he was done saying what the Lord told him, there was life in what was once dry bones. What gets me also is this situation, it wasn’t just one man’s bones, but it was a grave a bones. Ezekiel didn’t focus on the great number of bones there, he believed and focused on what God said. When the Lord was done instructing Ezekiel on what to say, those dead bones became alive and they were called “an exceeding great army” in verse 10.

If you are a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, you have the same power dwelling inside you to command dry bones to come to life. The Lord Jesus have given us the same power that raised Him from the dead (Romans 8:11). We are fighting a spiritual battle; We CANNOT overcome these problems in the natural. We have to fight these things in the Spirit of Christ. We have to let the Holy Spirit guide and help us. The enemy, satan, is a spirit being also and he is fighting us in the spirit wanting us to respond to him in the natural. Every born again person has the Spirit of Christ in them. Fight in the Spirit of Christ and use what the Lord gave us. The Words from God tells us “the weapon of our warfare are not carnal (fleshly/natural) but MIGHTY THROUGH God ONLY, by pulling down those strongholds. The devil attacks us in our minds and have us thinking our problems are so big that there is no hope. But we can cast down those evil imaginations and command our thoughts to obey Jesus Christ. Did you know you are obey Jesus by putting faith and believing when He says “by His stripes you are healed”. We have the authority given by Jesus to tell those thought to obey the Word of Jesus. As a man thinketh, in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7). If you think you are sick, you will be sick. If you think you are healed, you are healed. We can also believe for others healing, provisions, etc. God loves us, so we can have faith in His love. If we believe and trust in His love we can say, “the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want/lack/hunger”. Today, I am alive in Jesus Christ. His Holy Spirit dwells inside of me. I am empowered with His Holy Spirit to do what He says to do.

Finally, earlier this morning while typing this post I went to look something up on google and began typing http://www.google and the Holy Spirit showed me www.Jesus. He did that not for me to go to a website that’s www.Jesus. But because when I need to know something, even a scripture I can’t remember, I go to google. He said instead of going to google for help, go to Jesus for help. It’s all in Him, who is the Word. Jesus is the Living Word of God. No matter what, in everything we do for the Lord God, let’s give Him all the glory.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (Amplified version); For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Word Power   Leave a comment

WORD POWER – Andrew Wommack Ministries

Matthew 14:29, "And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus."

This one word "come" was spoken by the one who made all things (Jn. 1:3) and it had just as much power in it as the words that were spoken at creation. This is where the power came from for Peter to walk on the water. Likewise, any word spoken to us by God carries in itself the anointing and power it takes to fulfill that word, if we will release it by believing it and acting on it.

We need to not only know God’s power, but the greatness of God’s power, and then the exceeding greatness of God’s power. This exceeding greatness of God’s power is towards us. That means that it is for us and our benefit. Some people get glimpses of God’s power, but very few have the revelation that it is for us and at our disposal. It doesn’t do us any good to believe that God has power if we don’t believe that it will work for us. This great power of God is effectual only for those who believe. We must believe to receive, or if we doubt, we do without.

Despite all the criticism that might be leveled at Peter in this instance, he did walk on the water. There were eleven other disciples in the boat and although they clearly saw Jesus and Peter walking on the water, they still did not participate. One of the important steps in receiving a miracle from God is to leave the security of your natural resources (get out of your boat) and put yourself in the position where there has to be a miracle from God to hold you up. God is no respecter of persons (Rom. 2:11). Any of the disciples could have walked on the water, if they would have asked and gotten out of the boat.

LOVE AND TRUST – Andrew Wommack Ministries

Matthew 9:18, "While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live."

MATTHEW 9:18-19

Jesus could have healed this girl by His spoken word, but He did as He was requested to do. This illustrates how the Lord ministers to us according to our faith. Jesus ministered to him at the level where his faith was and didn’t rebuke his little faith (Jas. 1:5).

There is a human faith which is limited to believing only what we can perceive through our five senses. But the supernatural, God kind of faith goes beyond what we can see, taste, hear, smell, and feel. God’s kind of faith calls those things which be not as though they already were.

We exercise faith almost daily in such things as sitting on a chair and driving a car. But our faith is no better than the object in which it is placed. If I were to sit in a chair made of cardboard, I would go crashing to the ground. Regardless of how much faith I had, my faith would fall flat because the object of my faith was faulty. Hebrews 12:2, tells us that we are to be "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith." We must transfer our faith from human self reliance and independence, to reliance upon, adherence to, and trust upon Jesus Christ in all areas of our lives. Faith, in its simplest definition, is to trust, to rely, and to depend upon the resource of another. God’s Word declares that the object of our faith, Jesus Christ, can never fail or disappoint us.

Love produces faith, or is what makes faith work. We naturally trust those who we know truly love us. A revelation of God’s unconditional love for us will make faith just naturally abound in us. Are you struggling with faith? You have a deficiency in understanding how much God loves you. Let Him reveal His love to you today.

THE LAW OF FAITH   Leave a comment

THE LAW OF FAITH – From our Lord Jesus, given to Andrew Wommack Ministries

Luke 8:45, "And Jesus said, ‘Who touched me?’ When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, ‘Master, the multitude throng thee, and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?’"

MATTHEW 9:18-20; MARK 5:21-34; LUKE 8:40-48

The multitudes were thronging Jesus. That is, they were compressing, and crowding in on all sides, so it seems strange that He would ask, "Who touched me?" Many people were physically touching Jesus, but this woman touched His power by faith. Many people in the crowd probably needed healing, but this person is the only one mentioned who received. The difference was the touch of faith.

If it was simply Jesus’ willingness to heal that determined whether or not the healing took place, then all of the sick in this multitude would have been healed. This instance illustrates that it’s not prayer that saves the sick, but rather the prayer of faith that saves the sick (Jas. 5:15).

Healing is governed by law and not by a case by case decision from God based on His feelings toward us. This woman received her healing by the law of faith before Jesus knew anything about her. Impassioned pleas to God will not obtain the miracle we seek. Although Jesus is touched by our feelings, it requires faith. It’s not because Jesus doesn’t know our needs or hear our cries that miracles don’t happen, but rather it’s because very few know how the law of faith works.

One of the main differences between a God-kind of faith and a natural, human faith, which everyone has, is that human faith believes only what it can see, taste, hear, smell, or feel. God’s kind of faith believes in things that cannot be seen. You must believe that you receive your answer "when you pray" – not when you see the thing you’ve desired. Simply put, faith is our response to God’s ability, made complete by our actions. Trust Him completely and, because you believe, your actions will follow.

PEACE IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM   Leave a comment

While reading this Word, the Holy Spirit said when Jesus was in the boat and asleep during the storm, He was being our example; He was showing us what to do when we are facing a crisis. He trusted in His Father. To follow Christ is to be like Him. I want to do as He did. If we trust in Him, that is peace; He is the Prince of Peace. Shalom…

PEACE IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM – From our Lord Jesus given to Andrew Wommack

Mark 4:37-38, "And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master carest thou not that we perish?"

MATTHEW 12:46-50; 8:23-27; MARK 3:31-35; 4:35-41; LUKE 8:19-26

Considering the fact that the boat was filled with water, it is amazing that the disciples had to awaken Jesus. This was not a large ship with cabins below deck but rather a small, open boat and Jesus was, no doubt, "soaked to the bone." This reflects Jesus’ humanity and how tired He must have been. It also shows that Jesus must have been in a very deep sleep. Medical science has discovered that the deeper we sleep, the more rest our bodies get. This is a clue as to how Jesus could maintain the grueling pace He kept, along only with an occasional all-night prayer time. He was receiving the maximum benefit from His sleep.

Jesus did not say "Let us go out into the midst of the sea and drown in a storm." He was going to the other side. This shows that the disciples still didn’t understand Jesus’ authority. They were committed to Him as their Messiah, but they hadn’t yet realized that Jesus was Lord even over the physical elements. Many Christians still do this today. They receive the spiritual benefits of salvation but have not reaped the physical benefits of health and prosperity, which are also part of our salvation.

Whichever we focus upon – the storm, or the Lord in the midst of our storm – will determine how we manage the storms we face in life. He is not asleep concerning the things you face in this life, He’s right there in your "ship," resting, because He knows you’ll both get to the "other side." His peace is yours. Believe His Word. Rest in His love.
